Arizona’s Biggest Pet Peeve Makes You Want To Tear Your Hair Out
Communication is an essential part of the human experience. Without the ability to communicate with each other, we'd be no better than rocks on the ground that sprouted legs.
Cell phones have completely changed the communication game, but they've led to some situations that separate us more than ever.
America's Biggest Pet Peeve
Across the United States, there's one thing that will never cease to drive people up the wall. That, of course, is talking on speakerphone in public. It's a selfish, incredibly disruptive thing to do. No one needs to hear your conversation about grocery shopping with your mom in the middle of Safeway.
In fact, this is not only the biggest problem amongst Americans, but the biggest problem among Millennials, who hate this more than anything. Gen X feels the same, though they're a bit more worried about just talking loudly on the phone, regardless of the speaker situation.

Arizona's Biggest Pet Peeve
While hearing someone else's personal conversations in public is certainly annoying, Arizona's biggest pet peeve may be 1000x worse. Our biggest Communication Breakdown (best song on Led Zeppelin I), is talking to someone who's constantly checking their phone.
This is an incredibly rude and inconsiderate thing to do during a face-to-face interaction, basically telling the person you're talking to that they're not worth your full attention. No wonder people in Arizona can't stand this, we're a state built around community and sincerity. This goes against both of those.
Next time you're talking to a friend, colleague, or just someone cool you met, keep your phone in your pocket.
