Tired Of The DMV? Arizona Might Have The Answer
There might not be a more insufferable experience than having to go to the DMV. No matter the day, it always seems like there's 50 people already waiting in front of you, and you're unable to get answers to even the easiest of questions.
The experience has gotten so much hate over the years that Arizona's finally stepping in to make a change.
Why Do People Hate the DMV?
The Department of Motor Vehicles, or just the DMV is your one stop shop for everything legal on the road. Whether its getting your drivers license, registering your car, or simply just testing your emissions, they're, legally obligated, to take care of it.
The issue with all of this, is that the DMV is one of the most inefficient organizations in the U.S. Government. It seems like they purposely slow down their process, making line-holders wait, and those looking for help to get more and more frustrated as time goes on. Because of this, so many dread their next appointment.
Until now.

Tele-MVD
Arizona finally has an alternative. Tele-MVD is a program started last year in Maricopa county to help the city's homeless population get their state IDs. The program helped 7,000 get their ID cards in the past year alone, and plans to keep pushing that mark.
How does it work? It's much like tele-health appointments, though this is a little less remote. The program works out of a building in downtown Phoenix, set up much like a standard DMV office, with the o0nly exception being computers where the humans are supposed to be. Now, those visiting can sit with a remote worker who can help them through their issues.
While this program only serves the Phoenix area as of now, the Arizona Department of Transportation is working on expanding and bringing this tele-MVD to every community across the state.
