Coffee shops are a staple of almost every society around the globe. They remain as a "third-space", a place besides home and work, where people can get together, chat, and enjoy the caffeinated beverage of their dreams.

With hundreds of them popping up every day in America, new shops have to find a way to stand out. One Arizona shop is making a permanent mark on their customers.

Old Town Ink

Opening in Scottsdale in 2011, Old Town Ink seemed to be just another tattoo parlor in the sprawling expanse of the Phoenix metro-area. Packed with talented artists and a great vibe, the store exploded in popularity.

Eventually, a second location was opened in Mesa, but the owners still wanted to keep growing. They'd been cultivating an almost Bohemian spirit around their shops, and they wanted to inject that spirit into the very fabric of their business.

Buddha's Brew

In 2020, the Mesa location opened a very interesting new concept. Buddha's Brew was a coffee shop and cafe that was located within the tattoo parlor. It was meant to cultivate a space for creatives to design art, perform live music, and be around others who think along the same lines.

The coffee shop is separated from the parlor by a massive window, allowing patrons to see the professionals working on their art. The food is great, and the tattoos are better. The loyalty program is one of their coolest features, with a free drink for every 10 you purchase, and after 80, you get $150 off any tattoo you want.
