Bikers Come Together To Make Arizona Safer
If you think of bikers, you're probably thinking of groups like Hell's Angels or The Dirty Dozen. Tough, gritty biker gangs that strike fear in the hearts of those who pass them on the road.
In reality, most bikers are caring and thoughtful members of their community, nothing like the ones you see on TV, and they're coming together to make Arizona safer place.
Arizona Bike Week
From April 2nd to April 6th, Arizona will host its 28th annual Bike Week. Motorcyclists from across the southwest will gather in Scottsdale for a week of Bike Shows, Charity Rides, Concerts, and more.
The event takes place at Westworld of Scottsdale, just outside the Loop-101 Freeway. This is a major event, drawing in over 80,000 visitors last year, and it expects to get bigger. Throwing that many people into a party focused on driving, you can see where issues might arise, but Arizona's playing their part this year.

A lot of alcohol is served at events like this, and many attendees will attempt to drive home after consuming a few on their bikes. To counter this, officers will be stationed in the surrounding areas from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. every day to ensure everyone's getting home safe.
The event will also have an educational outreach station near the entrance, where you can check your Blood Alcohol Content with breathalyzers provided. The City of Scottsdale and Arizona as a whole want to make this event the best it can be, and that starts with road safety.
