WATCH: Paratroopers Injured At Arizona Baseball Game
Veterans of the American Military are some of the most important folks in our community, and it stands to reason we'd want to celebrate their accomplishments.
There are plenty of ways to show support, but a recent event ended in disaster for the veterans in attendance.
Sports Paratroopers
If you've ever been to a college athletic event, most likely a larger one, you may have seen a military appreciation segment. This can come in many forms, but the most popular is the paratrooper entrance.
This typically involves veterans or active duty military jumping from a plane above the stadium, and gliding down to rapturous applause. These soldiers are usually carrying an American flag with them, and will show it off when they finally reach the ground. There's very little margin for error in a jump like this, but unfortunately, some Arizona service members found that margin the hard way.

Arizona Baseball Military Appreciation Night
April 12th at the University of Arizona was Military Appreciation Night, coinciding with a baseball game where the Wildcats took on the Oklahoma State Cowboys. In order to show appreciation for service members and veterans in attendance, a paratrooper entrance was planned.
It all went smoothly, until two hit the ground much harder than expected. The two soldier's legs buckled, and they had a particularly hard landing. Tucson Fire Department, who was on scene for the game, were able to quickly transport the two to a local hospital for treatment. One suffered a slight back injury, and the other a dislocated shoulder, but both are expected to make a full recovery.
