In our youth, we feel invincible, and more so, that we know better than everyone around us. Unfortunately, the rules still apply dispute our age, and those aged 6 to 16 have to make sure to follow one very specific rule in Arizona.
Arizona Truancy Laws
You might be "Too Cool for School", but the state is also "Too Cool for Your Excuses". According to Arizona legislation, specifically section 15-803, children from ages 6 to 16 are required to be enrolled in and attend schooling, whether that be public, private, or homeschooled.
While there are many exceptions, such as parents looking after the child or excused absences, the rules stay heavily enforced. If children of these ages are found outside of school during school hours, they are liable for punishment from the state.

Homeschooling in Arizona
Arizona is a special state when it comes to homeschooling. Under Arizona law, parents who wish to homeschool their children must file an authorized Arizona Homeschooling Affidavit, and swear to teach standard curriculum, such as grammar, maths, and sciences.
Unlike other states (looking at you New York), Arizona has no requirement for the type of teaching required at homeschools, and are not required to submit lesson plans to the state.
Regardless of homeschooling are not, school aged children up to 17 must attend some schooling or another, and any attempt to evade this will end in legal trouble.
