
Why Dozens Federal Offices Have Been Shut Down In Arizona
The past few days have been confusing, politically speaking. Major government changes have been coming day by day, and Arizona has been seeing the effects of it.
Budgets have been slashed, programs have been cut, and now it seems as if entire traces of the federal government are being erased from the face of the earth.
Federal Offices are Disappearing in Arizona
The latest cost-saving measure by DOGE (The Department of Government Efficiency) has been to cancel leases for Federal Government buildings across America. This certainly would save a pretty penny, but the question now is where do these employees go?
Some of these programs will likely return back to work as normal, either remote or through a new office, but many will likely never see the light of day again, as Musk, Trump, and DOGE attempt to save every penny they can.

What Leases Have Been Cut
Across the state of Arizona, 24 leases for federal buildings have been slashed. This includes nine in Phoenix, two in Tucson, two in Flagstaff, and eleven more spread across the state.
The programs losing their offices are as follows:
- Public Defender Service, Phoenix
- General Services Administration, Phoenix
- Small Business Administration, Show Low
- Railroad Retirement Board, Mesa
- Bureau of Indian Affairs, Fredonia
- Forest Service, Mesa
- National Parks Service, Camp Verde
- U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Tucson
- Internal Revenue Service National Office, Phoenix
- Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Nogales
- Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Phoenix
- Forest Service, Phoenix
- National Resources Conservation Service, Yuma
- National Parks Service, Flagstaff
- Food and Drug Administration, Tempe
- Internal Revenue Service National Office, Mesa
- Indian Healthcare Service Navajo, St. Michaels
- Bureau of Indian Affairs, Phoenix
