Arizona Wants To Make You Money
The job search today may be the worst it's ever been. Young, prospective candidates are regularly shoved out of the way, told they need 5 years of experience for an entry level position, and not even given a chance to interview for positions in person.
Arizona legislators have noticed this trend, and want to give those entering the workforce a fair chance.
Ready, Tech, GO
One of the most common and sought after job fields for High School graduates is manufacturing. Working in engineering and tech is a lucrative experience that doesn't require the slog of 4-12 years of University, but tech/trade school is usually still required for these positions.
ReadyTechGo is a new initiative to get Arizona graduates off the stage and into the workforce immediately. Partnering with community colleges across the state, the program will teach students the skills they need to succeed in under a month.
You read that right, under a MONTH.
How Does the Program Work?
Interested students can apply for the Automated Industrial Technology Program at either Maricopa Community College, Pima Community College, and Central Arizona College. When they enroll, they will be taught the basics of robotics, technology, and engineering. Since most of the information is given early in the semester, those who want to get straight to working can gain their tech degree after two weeks.
Those who want to truly hone their craft, and by proxy bump their job opportunities, can stick around for two years, learning the ins and outs of electric vehicles, aerospace equipment, superconductors, and other highly skilled fields, before graduating with an Associates Degree.
The average salary of a Robotics Technician in Maricopa County sits at $75,000 a year.
