Say Goodbye To Your Chance At A Big Christmas Tree In Arizona
Christmas season has finally rolled around here in Arizona. The air's getting chillier, the lights are going up, and the smell of Hot Chocolate and Peppermint is flooding the air.
As you make your final preparations for the big man himself to come sliding down your chimney, there's one decoration you have to make sure you have, but Arizona's been facing some problems on that front.
Arizona Christmas Trees will Look Different This Year
There's no symbol of the holiday season quite like a Christmas tree. Usually a Douglas Fir wrapped in tinsel, lights, and ornaments, this tree is symbolic of all the joy had during the holidays. While many choose to keep a reusable tree as to not go through the hassle every year, the others still enjoy taking the family out to a tree farm and picking out the perfect one.
One of the biggest pros for buying your own tree is being able to choose how it looks. Some prefer a fuller tree, while others want one a little thinner, but one need seems to be universal: Be Tall. That won't be happening in the Grand Canyon State this year.

Why are Christmas Trees Getting Smaller?
Christmas Trees in Arizona may not be the size you want this year, but why? There is a plethora of reasons, but the main two come down to a lack of supply, and an influx of demand. Houses, specifically in the Phoenix and Tucson areas, are built with high ceilings, which makes people want taller trees, to fill up the space.
The second is supply issues, specifically why taller trees aren't seeing lots as frequently. Most of the trees in Arizona are sourced from northern Washington, which saw massive drought and wildfires over the past few years, dwindling the already slim supply of trees.
Regardless off whether your tree is three feet tall or 15, all that matters is the joy you feel with your family. Happy Holidays.
