Why America’s Favorite Christmas Food Is From Arizona
Nothing sets the holiday season quite like seasonal foods. Whether it's milk and cookies for Santa or a can of Who-hash, traditional holiday foods have been lining Americans tables for centuries.
Recently, Fabuwood held a survey, wondering what Americans favorite Christmas foods are, and Arizona has two on the list.
Flan
First on the list, at number 88, is the traditional desert of Flan. An incredibly creamy, sweet dish, Flan is beloved by everyone from sea to shining sea, as its strong caramel flavors are almost too delicious to resist. The dish is devilishly easy to make too, only requiring sugar, eggs, condensed and evaporated milk, and vanilla extract.
Hundreds of Americans agree with this sentiment, enjoying the dish year-round. There's something about this desert that makes it perfect for holiday dinners, however. Many recommend mixing the recipe with chocolate cake to create 'Chocoflan" a southwest fan-favorite.

Southwest Links Lasagna
Coming in at number 73 is Southwest Links Lasagna, something I was not aware of until very very recently, but boy am I glad I was introduced to it. Very similar to the Italian dish of the same name, Southwest Lasagna swaps out the traditional Mediterranean ingredients for southwestern favorites.
It's a tad harder to make than Flan, but still absolutely worthwhile, and welcome surprise to every dinner table. Some may be confused about its inclusion for holiday food, but growing up in an Italian-American household, Lasagna was a holiday staple, so it makes sense that this variation has its place at the table too.
