There's no better time for family, friends, and fun than Christmas. The holiday season has a knack to bring chaos to the forefront, but the spirit of the season ensures that won't be a problem until after the big day.

For a holiday based on exchanging boxed presents wrapped in paper, recycling seems to always have its day in the sun for Christmas. There are plenty of items you should focus on recycling at the end of this holiday season, including but not limited to:

  • Cardboard Boxes
  • Paper wrapping
  • Plastic cider or eggnog jugs
  • Aluminum cans
  • Metal food cans
  • Plain paper (cards, gift bags, etc.)

Just as important as recycling is ensuring you dispose of your trash correctly. For the most part, this will end up being everything you don't decide to keep and/or recycle. Waste Management recommends you either throw away, donate, or reuse the following items:

  • Foam packaging/packing peanuts
  • Plastic Bags/Bubble Wrap
  • Ribbons/Bows
  • Glossy and/or glittery cards/bags/wrapping paper
  • Trees/Ornaments/Wreaths
  • Lights/power cords/electronics

By ensuring everything is disposed of properly, either in recycling or trash, we can make this holiday season a clean, happy, and healthy one. Happy Holidays!
