Forget The Grinch, Arizona’s UPS Workers Are Stealing Christmas
There may not be a more iconic holiday film than Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The animated children's classic follows a mean-spirited creature known as The Grinch attempting to steal Christmas from the Whos down in Whoville.
Something very similar happened right here in Arizona, but it certainly wasn't the Grinch stealing presents from the good boys and girls.
The Great UPS Caper
Up in Mesa, Arizona, off U.S. 60 and Higley Road lies a UPS warehouse. This is mainly a distribution center, getting packages ready to get on the road and to their new owners. At least, that's where they should have been going.
In reality, four employees of this warehouse had built an almost iron-clad plan to make off with as much product as they could, and they almost got away with it too. Luckily, the perpetrators were caught, and are being held at Maricopa County jail.

How Did They Do It?
The theft was pulled off by four employees, who worked hand in hand to get as much as they could out of the warehouse and into their hands. The plan was devilishly simple, and involved nothing more than some slight printing errors.
One employee would create false shipping labels for products he and his friends were interested in. The address on the fake label was always one of the employee's homes, with fake names attached to them. It's estimated the thieves stole over $10,000 worth of product this year.
Luckily, these thieves are behind bars before the big day, so kids can sleep tight knowing Santa will have their gifts under the tree in time.
