This study was conducted by WalletHub, who had several criteria they used to determine the best run cities in America. The major points were financial stability, education, infrastructure, economy, health, safety, and pollution. Each piece was given a certain rank, and the averages of those were taken to determine the most accurate ranking of each city.

Arizona saw several cities on the list, most notably Tucson and Phoenix, ranked 57th and 39th respectively. There was one city, however, who overshadowed all the rest.

The Best-Run City in Arizona

Coming out on top for the state of Arizona is none other than... (drumroll please) Mesa! The city was ranked as the best-ran in Arizona and the 11th best overall in America. It's main selling point is the Total Budget per Capita, coming in at Number 10 in the nation.

This helped offset the city's Quality of City Services, which came in at 55th overall. This places Mesa just below Fort Wayne, IN and just slightly above Oklahoma City, OK. Since Mesa is located in the Phoenix Metro-Area, the difference is insanely noticeable just compared to the surrounding cities. So the next time you're up that way, make sure to notice the difference that Mesa brings.
