One Arizona City Is Singlehandedly Killing The Planet
These days, it seems like "sustainability" is a dirty word. It brings to mind kombucha hippies trying to turn your house into a vegan hostel to "save the planet".
However, sustainable practices are in ALL of our best interests, and striving for it is nothing to be ashamed of. There is no Planet B, and we need to treat the one we have correctly.
The Least Sustainable City in America
You never want to be at the bottom of a list, and boy, Arizona's not doing to great at that these days. WalletHub recently unveiled a study looking at the sustainability of the 100 most influential American cities, and Glendale came in dead last.
In fact, Glendale's placement was a miserable last place. Ranking last on almost single category. The only score that strayed anywhere away from the bottom of the list was the amount of energy sources in the city.
But that's just one city out of several here, right?

It's Not Looking Good for Arizona
Out of the top-10 least sustainable cities in America, Arizona hosts FOUR. Mesa, Gilbert, and Chandler all sit alongside Glendale as embarrassments in our quest to save the planet.
Changes obviously need to be made if they'd like to avoid the bottom of that list again. Urban Reforesting has been a suggestion tossed around from time to time, and one that might have merit. By planting trees across city streets again, we can not only have a better source of oxygen, but cool down the sidewalks and streets on those brutal summer days.
