Does Arizona Have The Worst Drivers In America?
Moving to Arizona from Florida, I noticed one thing: drivers here are exponentially better here in the Grand Canyon State. I find myself much less likely to get cut off, thrown a middle finger, or almost hit by someone running a red light.
That being said, it seems every state is of the belief that they have the worst motorists in the country, so who's really right?
Who Has The Best Drivers in America
A recent study attempted to answer this question, using multiple factors such as drunk driving, road fatality, and speeding rates. By using this method, you can accurately rank which states have the best and worst drivers.
The top three should be no surprise. New York and New Jersey take the top spots due to their massive usage of Public Transportation, and Hawai'i came out as the third. This may come as a surprise to Arizonans, but California came in at Number 23, which still seems WAYYYYYYY too high for the Golden State.

Are Arizona Drivers the Worst in the Nation?
Unfortunately, Arizona did not find itself on the upper end of the list. In fact, we didn't get anywhere close. We found ourselves at Number 45 out of 50, just five spots away from the worst in America. You can thank our Eastern neighbors, New Mexico for taking that spot.
If you ask me, this list seems incredibly flawed, especially after seeing Florida at the Number 25 spot. As a man who spent much of his youth learning to drive in the Sunshine State, I can tell you that buy-and-large, Arizona is nowhere near worse than Florida, much less 20 states lower.
