Arizona Doesn’t Trust Its Risk Takers
When life starts to get you down, and starts feeling like there's nothing new coming, many people turn to our good friend, adrenaline. Taking risks, whether physical or emotional, is cathartic to many, and has led to dozens of well-known activities and events for thrill-seekers.
Arizona has no shortage of these thrills, but one of the states favorites outdoor pastimes is receiving a massive blow.
Required Off-Road Tests
Regulations for off-road vehicles have been popping up left and right over 2024, and it seems that next year will start off in just the same way. Starting on the first of the year, 2025, off-roading in Arizona will look vastly different.
Owners of Off-Road Vehicles (OHVs, ATVs) will be required to take a safety course and subsequent test before they are allowed to go hit the tracks. This is required for every owner of an OHV looking to update registrations and renewals between 2025 and 2027.

What Does the OHV Test Contain?
Luckily for off-road enthusiasts, the requirements for this certification are fairly simple. Only one owner of the vehicle must take the test, so families can send their brightest to cover the course for all of them.
The course consists of a ten minute video, followed by twenty multiple choice questions, a fairly simple task, and one almost anyone should be able to complete with ease. Passing this test will allow you two years of renewals and registrations, ensuring you'll stay safe every time you get out adventuring.
Just remember, a valid state driver's license is required to take OHVs on roadways.
