Ahhhh, the American Dream. To enter this country, make billions, and retire with your feet up overlooking the rolling ocean waves. Almost everyone seeks out this dream, but it's the few and lucky that actually get to the top.

There are nine Arizonans that have made that dream a reality.

The Starter Billionares

Let's start with a disclaimer. Every person on this list is a billionaire. Despite being lower on this list, these individuals have more money than they could ever hope to spend.  Anyways, lets take a look at the Arizonans to crack the 2024 Forbes 400.

Starting off, is Bennett Dorrance. A University of Arizona alumni that invented condensed soup. For his efforts, he owns a 15% stake in Campbell's Soup, and is the 374th richest person in America. Coming in close to Dorrance is Stewart Horejsi, a man who started buying Berkshire Hathway in 1980. Obviously those stocks grew and grew and grew, leading Stewart to a net worth of around $3.8 Billion, and a spot as the 347th richest man in America.

From a poor, church-going kid in Baltimore to a multi-billionaire, meet Bob Parsons, founder of GoDaddy.com, a website hosting firm. He ranks in as the 338th richest man in the country, with a net worth of $3.9 Billion. Wrapping up the Sub-5 Billion Club is Joe Shoen. He is the president and chairman of U-Haul's parent company, and has a net worth of around $4.6 Billion. He is the 299th richest person in America.

Coming in at 288 is Ernest Garcia III, son of the richest man in Arizona, but we'll get to him later. He is the CEO and co-founder of Carvana, which has pushed him to a net worth of around $5.8 billion, and a spot as the tenth youngest member of the 2024 list.

Jumping up a bit to 266 is Arturo Moreno, owner of the Los Angeles Angels. When he bought the team, it was worth around $183 Million. Today? $2.7 Billion. Moreno's net worth sits squarely at $5 Billion. Next up is Joe Shoen's brother, Mark. The two wrestled control of U-Haul from their father, making the two billionaires. Mark's Net Worth settles around $5.3 Billion.
