2014 was a weird time, right? Hipsters were everywhere, the worst pop music ever made was on the radio, and people couldn't get enough of viral challenges. Whether it be the Harlem Shake or the Mannequin Challenge, everyone was lining up at their chance for fame.

While most of these were vanity projects and nothing more, there was one challenge that gained traction a decade ago that existed solely for a good cause.

It's coming back.

The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Remember that? The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge took the internet by storm in 2014 and never looked back. It raised more awareness for ALS than almost any promotional campaign up to that point, raising over $220 Million worldwide, but why?

The challenge was meant to take on the form of the viral social media challenges that were popular at the time. The challenge was simple:

Step 1: Start recording

Step 2: Shout out someone you'd like to take on the challenge

Step 3: Get doused in, you guessed it, a bucket of ice water

All you need to do is show up on time (the event runs from 9am to 10am), bring your own bucket of ice water, and prepare to be chilled. The main event is at Salt River Fields in Scottsdale, though there is a satellite event in Tucson at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church (1200 North Campbell Avenue).

For more information on the event, or ALS in general, visit their official page HERE.
