Bisbee Turns Into A Pirate Port Every August And Its Glorious
Each August, the streets of Bisbee, Arizona, transform into a lively gathering place for pirates, mermaids, performers, artists, and adventurers during Bisbee Pirate Weekend!
This annual event combines entertainment, costumes, and community fun in one of Arizona's most historic destinations. Here is what you can expect this year!

How did the tradition begin?
Like many great Bisbee Traditions, such as the Great Inflate Parade, Pirate Weekend started as a simple idea among friends. Organizers say it began when a local woman invited friends to dress as pirates and join her for a birthday pub crawl.
The idea quickly grew into the community celebration it is today. The event is organized by the Pirates of Sky Islands, also called the Sky Island Scallywags.
