Turns Out, Arizonans Love To Help Their Community
There's nothing more important than the community you're from. Family, friends, and neighbors all work together to create a space where everyone can feel welcome and supported.
There's no better way to perpetuate that than by volunteering your time to help those around you.
Volunteering Declines Across America
This story starts back in the Dark Ages. That's right... 2020. When the COVID-19 Pandemic hit, every aspect of normal life was thrown out the window at Mach 6. This, obviously, affected volunteer work. Since it's usually a group activity, much out-and-about volunteering completely shut down.
Volunteering within specified organizations took the biggest hit, seeing a nearly 10% decrease between 2019 and 2020. As the pandemic came to a halt, and life returned to some sense of normalcy, the rates began to rise again, and this time, Arizona was helping lead the charge.

Volunteering in Arizona
Things have changed since the pandemic in Arizona, and Volunteer numbers have begun to go through the roof. Between 2022 and 2023, a whopping 30% of Arizona's population volunteered under an official organization, a 6.5% increase compared to 2021, which was at the tail end of a decade long decline.
Many companies in Arizona have attempted to raise this number by various means, whether it be giving employees time off for volunteer work, or simply creating volunteer opportunities for the community.
Arizona is a perfect place for outdoor volunteering, with warmer weather giving the perfect reason to help people in their community beat the heat. While many will take the holiday season as an excuse to "cross it off their list", remember to volunteer throughout the year, and make Arizona a better place!
