This undying love unfortunately brings heartbreak when something happens to our pets, but some owners never give up.

Tom the Trucker Cat

An Arizona native, Tom was a passenger of two truckers, Marie Sanchez and Angel Anthony Garcia. Tom had traveled with the two across the country, blessing them with his presence on those long stretches of American road.

While on a stop at a Flying J in St. Cloud, Minnesota, Sanchez and Garcia decided to let Tom stretch his legs a bit. Tom took off to explore this new stop, but as the truckers prepared to leave they realized that Tom was nowhere to be found.

Heartbroken, but on a schedule, the two had to leave and hope that their beloved feline would turn up.

Distraught at the loss of their cat, the two began posting in local Facebook groups and eventually started their own group to help find Tom. As support grew, the two Yuma natives were shocked at the massive outreach their search was getting.

Finally, after weeks of searching, Sanchez and Garcia received a call from Minnesota. Nine miles from the truck stop he had disappeared at, in a metalworking shop in Sauk Rapids, Tom was found. After checking the microchip in the cat, it was confirmed. Tom was coming home.

Sanchez and Garcia are incredibly grateful for the residents of St. Cloud, noting that their relentless effort is what brought their precious cat back.
