How You Can See Elon Musk’s Fly-By In Arizona
Elon Musk is arguably one of the most controversial figures in American politics right now, but long before he stepped into the White House, he was attempting to step into the cosmos.
Now, in Arizona, we can see Musk's attempts at colonizing the stars from the comfort of our backyards.
Who is SpaceX
Effectively a private competitor to NASA, SpaceX is Elon Musk's aeronautics and spacefaring company. The end goal for them is the colonization of Mars, our closest neighbor, but right now, they're focused on problems here on earth.
Most recently, their primary focus has been the implementation of Starlink satellites, which provide wide-reaching internet service across the globe. To accomplish this, satellites are launched out of southern California on SpaceX rockets, whose flight paths can be seen as far inland as the Grand Canyon State.

When Can I See These Launches?
Given optimal weather, all launches will be visible from Arizona, and will be quite noticeable to the naked eye. They will all appear to be a streak of light across the sky, almost like a scar, originating just outside of Santa Barbra.
The month of May will see three separate launches, two of which belong to SpaceX. The launches are:
- SpaceX Starlink 15-3
- Launch Window: Friday, May 9th; 5-9 p.m.
- SpaceX Starlink 15-4
- Launch Window: Mid-May 2025
- Northrop Grumman Space Systems EWS OD-1
- Launch Window: Late May 2025
Make sure to stay updated, and when the time is right, take a look at the stars. You're likely to see at least a small glimpse of man's desire to reach the far reaches of space.
