Massive Arizona Cyber Attack: Is Your Information Safe?
Shows like USA's Mr. Robot began springing up as the information age was dawning. Showcasing the best of the best when it comes to coding, hacking, and everything else tech.
While Mr. Robot showed a hacker as the hero standing up to corrupt corporations, most of the time cyberattacks are incredibly harmful to the general public.
Cyber Attack Hits Arizona Car Dealerships
On the morning of June 18th, lines of code began making their way into the CDK Global system. Who is CDK Global? They are a data provider that works with over 15,000 car dealerships across the United States.
This attack comes just a few days after another cyber attack hit Findlay Auto Group, a dealership chain that has quite a few locations across the Grand Canyon State.
This is nowhere near the first major cyber attack to affect Arizona this year, and it comes on the heels of a push in Arizona to lock down cyber-security.

How Will This Affect Arizona?
You may be thinking to yourself "this is just a dealership problem, and I'm not looking to buy a new car anytime soon". Unfortunately, this problem is more comprehensive than just a simple business close for a few days.
CDK Global had to shut down all of their systems to mitigate the problem, but that causes its own. The company is unsure when the systems will be back online, but are working around the clock to fix the issue.
This likely means that most payments and other transactions will be impossible at several dealerships across the state. it's unknown which dealerships have been affected, but hopefully the issue is resolved in a timely manner, and car payments can begin being made again.
