KWCD 92.3 Tower Fell Down Due To High Winds
Cochise County Country KWCD is off the air, but you can still stream us HERE to listen to all your favorite country music. High winds on Wednesday blew all around Cochise County, leaning power poles, uprooting trees, sending roof tiles everywhere, and radio towers toppling. The KWCD tower is on Mule Mountain, Juniper Flats, in Bisbee. High winds bent the tower and sent it crashing to the ground. Engineers are in route to fix the problem but remember you can still stream us at www.kwcdcountry.com
The KWCD studios are in Sierra Vista, and we send the signal to the mountain, and the antenna sends the signal back to your radios. In the pictures below, you can see the tower bent. Also, in the pictures below, you can see the KWCD antenna; it was undamaged as it fell, only cutting the wires. But we need the antenna and the tower together to get the signal "on the air."
Also pictured below are the Sierra Vista studios with the towers in the background. Those towers are KTAN Thunder 98.1 and All Hits K101 antenna. These were unaffected by the winds and are broadcasting as usual. So you can listen to those on the radio, but remember, you can also stream those online.
Thunder 98.1 can be streamed HERE
All Hits K101 can be streamed HERE
KWCD country can be streamed HERE
Thanks for listening to all of our stations, and we hope KWCD will be back on your radio soon.
