Phoenix Wants to Give YOU $5000 to Harvest Water. What You Need to Know!
Arizona is known for the Five C's: Copper, Cattle, Cotton, Citrus, and Climate. These five things are considered the backbone of our state's economy.
While these five things are precious assets, Arizona is nothing without one more thing: water. The marketing doesn't fit with the other five (maybe...condensation, but that's a stretch.) However, it may be the most precious commodity we have.

The City of Phoenix Water Services Grant Program
Phoenix is well aware of how precious water is to Arizona, and they're helping you help your neighborhood.
The City of Phoenix Water Services Department is helping foster low-water, water conservation, and rainwater harvesting by sponsoring four grants of up to $5,000 each to encourage water conservation and sustainability.
The City of Phoenix is rolling out the Love Your Block Grant Program. It's focused on neighborhood improvement programs that target conservation and sustainability. This grant program could fund projects like rainwater harvesting, xeriscaping, and community initiatives that promote efficient water use this year.
Phoenix is leaving the project details up to you. Gather your friends and neighbors and put your heads together. How can you implement water conservation projects in your community? Come up with a plan and submit your proposal by May 12, 2025.

Eligibility and Registration for Grant Proposals
First, register your neighborhood group with Phoenix City’s Neighborhood LINK. Then submit your proposal. Include the scope of the project, the estimated budget, and your maintenance plan.
Your neighborhood likely has some areas it can grow and improve with low-water use projects, xeriscaping, and pollinator gardens. Here are some ideas:
- Removing the grass in an old lot, creating a shared neighborhood space.
- Using xeriscaped, desert landscaping for a low-water-use space.
- Creating a low-water-use pollinator garden.
- Installing a rainwater harvesting system for irrigation.
- Creating a mural with a clear water-conservation message or theme.
Maybe your project incorporates a little of all of these elements. Monsoon season is coming. The time is now to think of creative ways to harvest and use Arizona's precious water supply carefully and thoughtfully. And they want to help you and your neighborhood with this grant program.
Who's Legally Responsible for Your Private Well in Arizona?
