How Will This Major Retail Chain Strike Affect Arizona?
Employees across America are not happy. As the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, workers get fed up, and once that pot boils over, chaos follows.
That's the case with one major retail chain, and their employees have made it clear that they won't take what they've been given anymore. A strike seems imminent, so what does Arizona need to know?
Costco Goes on Strike
Known as the store to buy in bulk (as well as those dudes from Boca Raton who have made shopping there their whole personality), Costco has been a go-to for grocery shopping for families all across America.
Unionized employees have finally hit their breaking point, stating that they feel underrepresented in the company despite record profits. The Teamsters Union has given the company until the end of January to present a fair contract, and if that is not reached, they will begin striking on February 1st.

How Will Affect Arizona?
Luckily, it seems that states like California, New York, New Jersey, Maryland and Virginia will be hit the hardest by this, as they have multiple unionized stores. Outside of that, only about 8% of Costco employees are members of the union, totaling to around 15,000 people.
There are 20 Costco locations across the Grand Canyon State, with only three sitting in the southern half of the state. These stores will likely see small changes if this strike begins, but nothing major to the point of closing down. Your lines may be a bit longer, but you can sleep safe knowing your bulk shopping and double chunk chocolate cookies are safe.
