Phoenix Gives Hope To Seniors With Nowhere Else To Go
There's never a moment in life where you have it all figured out. Even after decades on this earth, you're only one bad day away from everything crashing down around you.
That's the unfortunate situation thousands of seniors across the country are in, and with nowhere else to go, rock bottom seems hopeless.
Arizona is starting to shine a glimmer of hope.
Phoenix, Arizona's "The Haven"
On the corner of 27th and Northern Ave in Phoenix, rests the husk of The Phoenix Inn. A once bustling accommodation is now on the cliffside of irrelevance, that is, if it wasn't for Central Arizona Shelter Services.
They are in the midst of turning the former Phoenix Inn into "The Haven", a space for unhoused seniors to get back on their feet. The project is meant to firstly, be a resource for struggling seniors, but secondly, be a way to change the way Phoenix views homelessness.

What is The Haven?
The Haven plans to take the old Phoenix Inn and flip it on its head. The shelter will be state of the art, with 130 rooms, communal kitchens, meals delivered from St. Vincent de Paul's, and pet accommodations. All these will be vital to keeping a happy and healthy community.
The building itself will be redesigned, with bright colors and designs added to the walls in order for residents to navigate around the shelter more easily. This is a program helping the most vulnerable of us, and Phoenix is excited to give new life and a fresh start to those seeking help.
