What Are The Fastest Growing Cities In Arizona?
Arizona has become an incredibly popular landing spot for young Americans. The growing job market and lower housing prices makes the southwestern deserts an attractive option.
Because of this, some Arizona cities are growing at breakneck speeds, and the census has taken notice.
Phoenix's Growing Population
While not making the list of fastest growing cities in America, the census still took notice of the Valley of the Sun. Phoenix ranked in at number five of the highest populated cities in America with 1.7 Million inhabitants.
This puts Phoenix among the likes of Chicago ,New York, and L.A. as one of the most influential cities in the country, if not the world. Phoenix is a far drop from fourth place Houston, Texas, who has a population of 2.3 Million, over a half a million person difference from Phoenix.
The Fastest Growing Cities in Arizona
At the close of 2023, the United States Census Bureau listed the fastest growing cities in America, and two names from Arizona made the cut.
There were two milestones that the Bureau tracked: town populations growing over 50,000, and populations growing over 100,000. These are both milestones of successful cities, and show promising futures for those that made the list.
The first up is Prescott Valley, Arizona, who just broke 50,000 in 2023. It's located just north of Phoenix, and has been steadily growing for some time now. The quaint suburban atmosphere mixed with stunning natural landscapes makes this one of Arizona's most exciting young towns.
The other name that made the list is Yuma, finally crossing the 100,000 population mark. It's located just off of the California border, and has slowly made a name for itself across the state.
