Cochise County is a nice little stretch of land just north of the U.S./Mexico Border. It's quiet out here, ironic for the area that saw the peak of depravity just a short century ago in the age of Gunslingers and Outlaws.

Now, a new criminal is running around, terrorizing the citizens of Cochise County. Unlike the Stagecoach Bandits of old, this new criminal isn't in it for the money... just the chaos.

The Bisbee Slasher

Bisbee is a lovely community, and one that I'm happy to be a part of. These past few weeks have been taxing for the residents, however. Starting in early February, several Bisbee residents found the tires on their car slashes, killing their only form of transportation.

The Bisbee Police Department has been getting overnight calls left and right, with many mentioning a man running around the city, screaming while slashing tires on locals cars. The amount of tires slashed has only increased since then, with nearly 70 tires slashed in the city in a matter of days.

What Can We Do About It?

This has become a massive problem in Bisbee, with even the Copper Queen Community Hospital being hit multiple times. Lately, Sheriff Mark Dannels has been patrolling the city at night, hoping to catch this vandal.

BPD and CCSO have made it clear that the best way to avoid being hit is to remain alert. They recommend parking your car in a well-lit area, and using security cameras or Ring Doorbells (if you have any) to keep an eye on your vehicle overnight.

If you have any information whatsoever, alert the Cochise County Sheriff's Office through their TIP LINE.
