Feeling Blue? Arizona’s Fall Weather May Be To Blame
Fall is my favorite season. The weather getting just a bit colder reminds me that the year is almost over, and it's time for pumpkin, spice, and everything nice.
Unfortunately, Arizona's fall is very different from what you'd expect in Appalachia or the Rockies. The heatwaves that come out of this period can be a brutal reminder that we're still in the middle of the desert.
It may affect you more than you think.
Arizona's Fall Heatwaves
When most of the country is getting ready to enjoy cooler weather and vibrant red/orange trees, Arizona is lulled into a false sense of security. In mid-September, the temperatures begin to drop drastically... for like, a week.

How Can Heatwaves Affect Your Mood?
Expecting a picture-perfect autumn and receiving the same old same old is never fun, but one man thinks it goes further than just disappointment. Dr. Shad Marvasti claims that these autumn heatwaves can cause mood swings and depression.
Why? It's simple. The body knows when the seasons change, and a switch in that can mess up our internal clocks. He states that people will try to pretend that the heatwaves are not happening, which may lead to dehydration, insomnia, or just plain depression.
While you may want to force fall fun on yourself, you have to treat these heatwave months as an extension of summer, and practice all the tips you'd normally use to stay cool and hydrated.
