The Most Popular Show in Arizona
On September 7th 1927 the first television broadcast was sent out across the airwaves. Since that fateful moment, television has captured the hearts and minds of billions across the globe.
As we moved into the 21st century, Americans wanted the shows we watch at a moments notice which led us into the streaming era. Sites like Netflix, Hulu, and HBO Max began becoming the norm, and provided us with a whole new way to watch TV.
Streaming in America
The United States is at the top of the pack when it comes to streaming, with 46.26% of citizens watching every year. It's great to want to jump right into streaming your favorite shows, but due to licensing agreements they can't all be on the same platform.
The most popular service across the U.S. is HBO Max, with Hulu coming in a close second and Netflix and Amazon Prime Video tied for third. With that, Euphoria and Game of Thrones (HBO Max) are the most commonly streamed shows with Candy (Hulu) coming up in third.
Arizona's Favorite
We've gone over the biggest shows and services across America, but if there's one thing Arizona residents love, it's being different. Arizona's most popular show was not one of the top three, and isn't available on any of the top three services.
The top show in Arizona is Amazon Prime's The Peripheral, which follows a tech savvy girl as she connects to an alternate reality through her VR headset. While the show was cancelled in late 2023, it's obvious Arizona couldn't get enough and we'll be greatly missing the title card flashing on our screens.
It's only a matter of time before a new champion is crowned.
