Massive Retailer Cuts Benefits From Arizona Shoppers
Shopping has gotten a lot harder in the past few years. Prices are rising, and convenience is at an all time low.
Many shoppers have turned to 'bulk' stores, like Costco and Sam's Club to remedy these issues. Their bulk pricing and massive warehouse storage make family shopping easier, cheaper, and fun.
Sam's Club just made the experience harder.
Free Shipping
For as long as the Club has run bulk shopping, members have been allowed to order online and receive free shipping of their groceries to their home. This was a lifesaver, especially for those who move Sam's Club, but live a little too far from one to shop at regularly.
For many, this is why they signed up for memberships. Being able to buy 5 gallons of Mayonnaise for $25 isn't a bad deal, and having it dropped on your doorstep for free is a convenience medieval peasants couldn't even fathom.

Memberships Change
Cover your eyes Sam's Club fans, because on August 19th the company will be stripping members of their free shipping benefit. Instead, the store will require members to spend $50 or more in order to qualify for free shipping.
Members whose online orders are lower than $50 will pay a flat rate of $8 to ship their order to them. This is a slap in the face to customers who pay their hard-earned money for the convenience Sam's Club brings. This will now lead to more expensive orders that people don't want, only to ensure free shipping.
It's a predatory business practice meant to drive in more revenue on behalf of Club members, and customers are not happy about it.
