"The West End" in Sierra Vista is getting some more improvements.

We all remember the construction on fry Blvd in the West End last year. This transformed the look and feel of the area. That streetscape project is extending up north garden Ave this year. it's currently in the design phase and that will be completed around April. Upon completion, the City will roll right into bids for construction.

You should expect to see some construction activity in the summer or early fall. This project continues the City’s revitalization efforts in the West End which have been multifaceted. The City of Sierra Vista partnership program in the West End has been going really well. You can already see some of the murals and the updates of some of the businesses; Some of those come from a matching grant program where the city can provide matching dollars to support improvements. Tombstone brew pub is an example of a business that took advantage of that. They pushed back their opening day a little bit, but they'll be opening soon.

We've seen a lot of investment on garden Ave in the last year to two, even three years ago starting with the hotel that got renovated. Adam Curtis, Public Information Officer for the city of Sierra Vista said, “It's going to be an exciting time for the West End for the next few years and this is the next big step in that effort, so definitely look forward to some big construction going on in the summer and fall.”
