The school resource officer received information about the threat at approximately 10:20 am. According to a Press Release issued by the Sierra Vista Police Department, a male juvenile student had posted a message on Instagram stating he "needed a school shooting." The student reportedly showed the message to classmates and spoke about it openly, prompting immediate concern.

Joyce Clark Middle School Placed on Lockdown

According to Corporal Scott Borgstadt of the Sierra Vista Police Department, school officials responded to the report of the threat by initiating lockdown procedures. The operation was implemented to ensure the safety of students and staff.

Officers from the Sierra Vista Police Department responded quickly to assess the situation. After a thorough investigation, authorities determined that there was no immediate threat to the school community, and the lockdown was lifted.

Sierra Vista Student Faces Charges for Terroristic Threat

According to the press release, the student responsible for the threatening message posted on social media has been "referred for charges related to making terroristic threats and disrupting an educational institution."
