According to the press release, a young girl was riding her bike to school, when she was hit by a pickup truck as she was crossing Coronado Drive at Golf Links Road in Sierra Vista.

The girl was in the crosswalk, wearing her helmet, doing everything right. Sierra Vista's emergency crews arrived quickly. They got her out from under the truck, and she was treated at Canyon Vista Medical Center in Sierra Vista.

The girl was later airlifted to a Tucson hospital. The driver was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
