Geocaching is a worldwide treasure hunt you do with your phone. No matter where you go there is probably a Geocache nearby, in every city, in every country around the world.

In December 2022, I drove through Corona, New Mexico.  Just off of Main Street is a very cool phone both with an alien “phoning home”. In 1947 a local rancher came to Corona to report a UFO crash to authorities. A sore spot, according to locals Roswell, New Mexico took the credit for finding this UFO that looks a lot like a flying saucer and ended up being a weather balloon (or was it?)  This phone both is in front of Corona Motel and Rv. This Motel has themed rooms like the “Man Cave” “Bunk House” “50’s” and of course an “Alien” room.  If you would like to go see this for yourself its located at 711 Main Street, Corona New Mexico.
A trip is not complete without a geocache called “Phone Home – Corona” GC7GEMN It’s a regular size cache located in the phonebooth. Great hiding spot and lots of room for trackables and swag.

Using your phone’s GPS, you can look for hidden Geocaches that other users have hidden.  There is a difficulty scale one to five. One is easy, you can probably find it within minutes. Five is difficult and could take a long time to find its hiding spot. There is also a terrain scale one to five. One is wheelchair accessible and five needs special equipment like climbing gear or a boat. As you probably figured out by now, you can combine the difficulty with terrain to make combinations like a one difficulty with a five terrain or the hardest, five difficulty with five terrain. However, the biggest number of Geocaches are usually a two-two.

The containers can vary as well and play into the difficulty. A one-one could be a plastic bottle under a pile of rocks near a trail. A five container could be a secret container inside a fake brick in a wall. The size of containers can vary, a small magnet hidden on the back of a street sign or an ammo can out in the desert.
