We've all heard about the benefits of creating farm to table meals, and many of us are striving to shop locally. With the high cost of transporting goods these days, plus the talk of reducing our carbon footprint, buying goods from local farmers and artisans is looking better all the time.

Local Produce from Echoing Hope Ranch

The Sierra Vista Farmers Markets feature many local vendors.  Echoing Hope Ranch on the San Pedro River in Hereford brings a variety of greens and herbs each week. They have a green house, where they produce varieties of kale, chard, radishes, lettuce, tomatoes, parsley, basil, dill, and more. You can feel good about buying from Echoing Hope Ranch, because they're a very special place.

Golden Rule Dairy Brings Eggs and Raw Milk

With the price of eggs skyrocketing here in Arizona and making them more difficult to find in grocery stores, be sure to swing by Golden Rule Dairy. Not only do they have chicken eggs, but they're a Grade A licensed raw milk dairy. Don't forget to ask about their delicious granola.

San Ysidro Farms: Grass-Fed, Pasture Raised Meats

San Ysidro Farms brings local, grass-fed pasture raised meats every first and third Thursday. If you're a fan of picking these things up in the supermarket, talk to Nathan or Jackie. They can tell you more about where your food comes from than your local grocery store butcher. They bring a variety of meats depending on the season, including beef, lamb, pork, chicken, turkey and be sure to pick up some of their frozen pasties to take home.

The Farmers Markets also have fresh baked goods, deserts, locally grown honey, snacks and even soaps, lotions and so much more. The list is too long to include everyone here, so you'll just have to stop by and see for yourself. Plan to spend a little time enjoying our beautiful weather and grab some lunch at one of the food trucks.
