Your Thoughts on Making Monday a Holiday

First, most of the answers we gave regarding making the Monday following the Super Bowl seemed supportive of the idea, there were more than a few dissenters.

Javier, Frances, Tony and Ashley were all solidly in the "YES" camp. Ashley said she and her family are avid fans, including her school-aged kids. She reasoned it would be better for everyone to either move school and work start times a little later on Monday, or take the entire day off. She mentioned getting up the Monday morning after the game was tough!

Carmen said 'no', saying she felt it would be a reward to celebrate drinking the day before, and she didn't thing that was a great plan. Laura had an interesting take, "We can consider making the Monday after Super Bowl a holiday when we decide Election Day becomes a holiday."

What We're Eating During the Big Game

What are we eating on Sunday afternoon? I asked you to list some of your favorite snacks and beverages we expect during the game. It seems some of our choices are almost couched in tradition, almost like Thanksgiving or Christmas dinners. The usual answers came up: 7 Layer Dip, chips, beer, wine, hot wings. But there were some unique offerings as well.

"Sweet tea, nachos, and frozen margaritas," one user told me. Michele listed rumaki, cherry pie smokies, and queso dip. I might need to stop by her place just to see what some of these items are! Megan is providing Girl Scout cookies at her gathering, and even suggested some places we could pick those up if we're interested.
