Arizona State’s Latest Doctorate Grad is How Old??
I was 22 years old when I graduated from the University of Florida. I jumped straight in after High School graduation, and took all four years to truly get the most out of my college experience.
As much as I enjoyed making my way through those four years and finding myself in the process, some students are only focused on academic domination.
That's one ASU grad's story.
Who is Dorothy Jean Tillman II?
Starting her journey in Chicago, Tillman was an obvious child prodigy. At 10 years old she enrolled in her first college course at College of Lake County in Illinois. A few years later, in 2016, Tillman had her associates, but she wasn't stopping there.
Two years later, she had her bachelors from Excelsior College in New York, and two years after that, she was holding her master's degree from Maine's Unity College.
In 2021, she was accepted to Arizona State's Behavioral Health Doctorate Program.

Every one of Tillman's three degrees up to that point had been earned in different states, so Arizona didn't seem like too far of a stretch. Most of Tillman's work was done either remote or online to avoid having to move all the way to the west coast, but that doesn't mean she wasn't involved.
Tillman began to practice and perfect dance and choreography in her time at ASU, and founded the Dorothyjeanius STEM Leadership Institute, a program meant to get more kids engaged with STEM fields.
On May 6th, 2024, Dorothy Jean Tillman II made her way to Tempe, gave some remarks to the graduating class, and officially became the youngest ever doctorate graduate from Arizona State University at 17 years old.
She studied Integrated Behavioral Health, and she hopes to build up her STEM Leadership Institute to a franchise moving forward.
