Arizona’s Favorite Board Game Is NOT What You’d Expect!
In today's modern age, kids will typically spend their free time in front of screens. The most popular form of recreation is usually playing video games, whether that be Minecraft, Roblox, Fortnite, or anything in between.
Long gone are the days of sitting down at a table with friends and family and playing a good old fashioned board game, but not everyone has given up the old ways.
Arizona's Favorite Board Game
With the amount of stimulation we get in our daily lives, you'd think that Arizona's most popular tabletop game would be something fast paced and hectic, like Monopoly, but that couldn't be further from the truth.
According to Google search trends, Arizona's favorite classic game is Chess! While this has been one of the most popular games for years, its slow paced, thoughtful strategy makes this an odd choice for the modern day, but with online chess servers becoming more and more popular, this shouldn't come as too much of a surprise.

Arizona's Top-5
While Chess reigns supreme, Arizonans do have a variety of other games they still enjoy playing. The top-5 in search results show a mix of everything. The second most searched for was Yahtzee, and the third was Checkers, a close cousin of Arizona's favorite.
Spots three and four went to Monopoly and Catan respectively. Both these games involve strategy, partnership, and a lot of yelling at other players. While Chess is the dominant game Arizonans still play outside of the digital world, there are still plenty of other games that show how much we crave human connection (and sometimes human fistfights if you decide to take Park Place too early).
