Why The State of Arizona is Suing Donald Trump
If there's one word to describe the second Trump administration, it would be "controversial". Changes have been made day by day that the nation is ecstatic about, and some that have left the whole country scratching their heads.
One such change has seemed to cause a bigger fuss than any other one, and Arizona, THE STATE, is planning on taking action.
The Department of Education is GONE
Dismantling the Department of Education has been a top priority for this administration, which has caused a lot of confusion among the American public. It's one of the few federal programs that has almost unanimous approval, and it's still unclear as to why exactly it's getting gutted.
On March 11th, the department officially began the process of laying off FIFTY percent of its employees. This is drastic, and is being done on the sole known fact that President Trump believes the department has been overtaken by "radicals, zealots and Marxists."

A Lawsuit is Coming
Arizona, and many other states have had enough. They saw this as a massive attack, and according to Attorney General Kris Mayes, "It isn’t about better education policy. It is about tearing down public education by those who want to privatize it for profit."
So, Arizona, along with 19 other states, has filed a lawsuit against President Trump and Secretary of Education, Linda McMahon, stating that this policy is intended to kill the Department of education overall. This would effectively kill public schooling, as the department would be unable to fund, protect, and grow these schools after these cuts.
How far this lawsuit goes, we'll have to wait and see, but when almost half of the states in America decide the time for action is now, it's likely we'll see some kind of result.
