After the COVID outbreak of 2020, America was praying that was the last we'd seen of infectious disease outbreaks for at least another 50 years.

Earlier this year, the world was shocked to hear of the mysterious passing of legendary actor Gene Hackman and his wife. The cause of death was unknown for some time, and with no foul play involved, the media was at a loss.

Come on man. We watched life shut down in 2020 for the COVID-19 pandemic, and then just a few short month ago, H5N1, otherwise known as Bird Flu, began spreading across the United States. You'd think that would be more than enough to throw at us, but the universe isn't done with us yet.

We just can't catch a break, huh? Five years ago, we were ravaged by the COVID-19 pandemic, and now, not even half a decade later, we're staring down the barrel of another international pandemic.

As of January 6th, 2025, America has seen its first death related to the recent outbreak of Bird Flu. The man was 65 years old, and resided in Louisiana. Experts believe he contracted the disease when he came in contact with a flock of backyard and wild birds.
