Ava McElroy from the Salvation Army was in the studio to talk about an event on Thursday, 03.30.23

Tell us about the event.
McElroy: Thursday morning at 8:00 o'clock, The Salvation Army has an opportunity to distribute milk, eggs, and other produce in addition to our normal monthly distribution. This is going to be (Thursday) 8:00 o'clock in the morning, first come, first serve, at the core building, 180 E Wilcox drive (In Sierra Vista). This event is open to the public and will be a drive-through only, just like our regular monthly commodities distribution. This is sponsored by the Southern Arizona community food bank. We have received an abundance of milk and eggs, and other products that we want to get out to the community before it expires, so this is happening Thursday.

The Salvation Army does so much in our community; how can our community help the Salvation Army?

McElroy: Such a wonderful question; thank you so much for asking. We can always use food donations, we take monetary donations, and we love to have people come and volunteer and help us with this sort of thing. The Salvation Army does react to disasters all the time, and this is an opportunity to respond to a really good thing, so if you do want to volunteer for Thursday, please give me a call at 520459 8411. Ask for Eva or Ask for Mary.
