Ives military career has taken him all around the world including Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Nigeria, Korea; “and now I’m back home at Fort Huachuca”. Colonel Ives said in the radio interview.

Ives has been to Fort Huachuca many times. “I lived here three times as a kid. I lived here when I was two yeas old, my dad was a staff Sergeant instructor over at the schoolhouse on Fort Huachuca. Then we came back again, I started Kindergarten here. Then we came back again, I started the fifth grade here.” Now he’s happy to be here as an adult. His wife was also stationed here previously.

According to Colonel Ives, some of local things he is looking forward to in Cochise County are hiking, Kartchner Caverns and the local cuisine. Colonel Ives said, “I also travel on my stomach, and I’ve been hearing about all these great restaurants around the area, so I want to try all those as well. That’s why I need to do all the hiking.”
