I'm a big fan of sci-fi, especially unexplained oddities that could possibly be real. I've seen every episode of the original Twilight Zone so many times that I know the title and the subject within a minute of the opening.

Same deal with the X-Files. The episodes cover things that could be real, even if they seem far-fetched in the beginning.

This brings me to the fascinating, odd, impossible, and strange things you can only find in Arizona. Some of the curiosities on my list are mildly interesting. Others are almost impossible to believe - much less explain.

Why is London Bridge in Arizona?

London Bridge in Lake Havasu City: Believe it or not, Arizona is home to the historic London Bridge.

Yes, the one from England. In the 1960s, the bridge was taken apart, piece by piece, and shipped to Lake Havasu City. There, it was meticulously reconstructed.

You'll have a hard time adjusting to this bit of "jolly old England" plunked into the middle of the Arizona desert—another thing you'll just have to see to believe.

There's a CASTLE in Phoenix?

Mystery Castle in Phoenix: Yes, there's a castle in Phoenix. It's a whimsical, offbeat structure built by Boyce Luther Gulley for his daughter.

It's even more eccentric because it was constructed from salvaged materials. Look around and see things like auto parts and telephone poles pieced together to create the Mystery Castle.

It's certainly creative and definitely strange. You have to walk the labyrinth of oddities to wrap your head around the weirdness truly.

These are just a few of the oddities you'll find in Arizona.
