Store With Locations in Arizona Subject of Dangerous Listeria Recall
Listeria Contamination in Kirkland Salmon
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) oversees food and drugs sold in Arizona and the United States. The FDA is alerting the public about another dangerous foodborne illness in a popular food sold at a major national retailer.
Costco is now recalling its Kirkland brand of smoked salmon. The products could be contaminated with listeria, the same bacteria recently found in Boars Head meats, which led to a large recall.
If you recently purchased Kirkland Signature Smoked Salmon, check the packaging. The company is recalling:
- Kirkland Signature Smoked Salmon twin pack
- 12oz package
- UPC 0 96619 25697 6
- Lot# 8512801270
- Best-by-Date: 11/13/2024
Laboratory testing confirmed Listeria monocytogenes on October 21, 2024.
Currently, the outbreak seems confined to Costco stores on the East Coast. As of this writing, no illnesses or deaths have been reported.
