JenMarie Zeleznak, the Art Instructor at Cochise College Sierra Vista Campus, is also the coordinator of the 2023 Youth Arts Festival. She stopped by to tell us about the event coming up Saturday, February 25th.

JenMarie: The youth arts festival is coming up on Saturday, February 25th, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and it is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome. We're going to have nearly 30 activities, including make-and-take art forms, sensory-based art, play activities, storytime, as well as some of the disciplines of drawing, painting, mixed media, clay, sculpture, and creative writing, and poetry, including theater, music, and dance. Most of our activities are going to have integrated learning experiences through the arts, where they're going to be facilitated and led by students and community partners, so we hope that they learn something new about themselves, culture, or a technique or skill. We also plan to have a performance hour in the community room from 12:00 to 1:00 PM.

This is a great community event.

JenMarie: We're really excited about the Arts Festival because it offers a diverse and creative outlet for youth in our community to discover and realize their potential. We're really excited to have an inspiring and fun day with families and youth.

The event is free and open to the public.

JenMarie: Just show up! We're going to have two check-in tables, one at the student union and one in the library Commons. We're looking forward to seeing you at The Cochise College Youth Arts Festival on Saturday, February 25th, from 2:50 PM. There is also a Facebook event page.
