Dave Spencer has been in radio for 38 years--36 of them at WBKR. It began as an overnight shift and has evolved into an afternoon drive gig that's lasted nearly 22 years. Dave has watched the business evolve from analog (reel-to-reel, CD) to digital and streaming. Also the WBKR music director, Dave has had the great fortune of meeting folks like Garth Brooks, Willie Nelson, Reba McEntire, Alan Jackson, and Charlie Daniels, among others--a fringe benefit he didn't see coming at the beginning of his career. Dave does volunteer work for Breakthrough T1D, a non-profit diabetes research and advocacy organization, and Daviess County High School's speech and drama department where he has served as a tournament judge a number of times. Dave is also involved in Theatre of Workshop of Owensboro, his hometown.
