If you're a KWCD Country Morning Show listener, you already know I'm a happy, loud, super nerdy gal who loves puns, movies, music, TV, books, and pop culture. What you might not know is I never really chased the dream of being in radio - it just always seemed to be in my life, like radio was chasing me. In my youth, like many kids of the 80s/90s, I spent hours listening to music stations, poised to record my favorite songs - pretending to be a DJ while making dozens of mixed tapes from my beloved boombox. As I grew up, it really began to chase me as several opportunities for radio education and internships in middle school and high school fell at my feet. As I pursued other interests in college, I frequently found myself on the radio by winning many movie and music trivia radio contests, and even managed to win a guest DJ spot at a popular radio station in San Diego in my late 20s. It wasn't until I moved to Arizona in my early 30s when radio finally won the chase and caught me - in 2016 I met Sierra Vista's legendary DJ, Grady Butler, at KWCD 92.3. I came in to record PSAs for my former job as a water conservation educator, and we quickly realized our shared interests and natural rapport was often undeniably entertaining, and shortly after a few recordings and lively conversations, he asked me if I'd be interested in being his morning show co-host. So, there you have it - I finally gave into the radio chase. The rest is history as Grady and I are now best friends who have a great time talking to our country music listeners in the mornings about music, movies, tv, and current events - adding our notorious nerdy spin to everything!
