Even with all of the educational material and public service announcements, people continue to drink and drive. Most people have the excuse, "I thought I was OK to drive", or "I was only driving a short distance," or even, "I didn't think I would get caught." Not only are there expensive fines but you could also loose your license and even loose your job. Here is the report on the Superbowl DUI Task Force from the City of Sierra Vista

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  Feb. 13, 2023

Task force makes four DUI arrests in Super Bowl detail

Sierra Vista, AZ.  02/13/23. The Southeastern Arizona DUI Task Force made four DUI arrests during a saturation detail conducted in the Sierra Vista area on Sunday, Feb. 12, due to Super Bowl 57.

The detail was performed by the Sierra Vista Police Department, Cochise County Sheriff’s Office, and Bisbee Police Department. The detail resulted in the following: 42 traffic stops or contacts, 22 warnings or repair orders, two miscellaneous civil citations, one miscellaneous misdemeanor arrest, one misdemeanor warrant arrest, two designated drivers, one felony drug arrest, one criminal speed/reckless driving arrest, two super extreme DUI misdemeanor arrests, and two drug-related DUI misdemeanor arrests.

The blood alcohol content (BAC) for the two alcohol-related arrests was 0.223, just under three times the legal limit of 0.08. The remaining two arrests were drug-related arrests and required blood draws.

With the continuous support from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, the Sierra Vista Police Department reminds drivers that if you choose to drive hammered, you will get nailed. Get a designated driver, not a DUI!
